• 13th March 2003: Alumni News from former regular Richard Pollock, now playing for Plymouth Chess Club. In addition to passing on his best wishes, he wonders whether anyone has any answers to 1.d4 Nc6 .2 c4 e5!.? It clearly didn't go too well when shown to him OTB!

• 12th February 2003: London League game on 17th March against Dulwich Pirates now postponed to Wednesday 30th April, due to fixture clash at their end.
• 28th January 2003: Sue Farrington, of this parish, wins the Terrence Chapman Amateur Prixette ahead of Dinah Norman, former British Ladies Champion! More details of this superb achievement are here, but for those who may not know, the Grand Prix tournament-of-tournaments aggregates the scores from tournaments held across the country during the year. So we're talking stamina and long term success here! The Amateur Prixette is the women's equivalent event, although I'm not sure what qualifies the term amateur?
