London League

All London League games are played in one of several venues in Central London.

Most games are played at Golden Lane, the default home-venue for suburban clubs like us. But before you go, are you absolutely sure your game isn't somewhere else? Maybe you should check in the fixtures section.

Start Times

Each venue seems to have its own start-time, and they vary between 6:25pm and 7pm. Unless told otherwise, assume 6:45pm.

Players not present 45-minutes after the official start-time are defaulted. I've not noticed much discretion for late arrivals. More than once, a player arriving fractionally late has been defaulted even with their opponent still in the room. Sounds harsh? Well, let's just say that London League is that little bit more competitive than other competitions.

Golden Lane

The venue is a Community Centre just inside the Golden Lane Estate, near the Barbican. If you're coming from Barbican tube, turn left outside the tube and walk up Aldersgate Street a hundred metres or so. Take a right at the Shakespeare Pub into Fann St., then enter the estate at the entrance opposite Viscount St (it's just after a road barrier). The community Centre is immediately on your right. Journey time from the tube is 5 - 10 minutes.

The venue opens at 6:45pm, Start time is 7 pm, defaults at 7:45, sharp (even if the match starts late). We tend to meet for a quick drink after the game in the bar downstairs or in the Shakespeare Pub

Not follow that? Well, here's a map.
