Interesting Chess Games

A selection of chess games from my scorebook and anyone that I know who's got something interesting to share.

• for the first time ever, I was placed 1-3 in an Open weekend tournament. My old mate Martin Simons took the cup on tiebreak. This was the Dorset Individual championship at Bournemouth, and although there was a relatively small field, the average grade was about 175. I've looked over each of my glorious victories and only this one now seems worth sharing!
• I escape from a very difficult position, via a zugzwang theme
• Rawle Allicock's win at the last London League game of the 2008 season.
• A Kings Gambit win for black. One of my rare wins against a handily graded opponent in the last round of the 4NCL.
• Wow! Well at least you tried to bite his head off! (David Sandham) Neil Cannon – Luke McShane, Rapidplay 2008. Luke McShane is an English Grandmaster; Neil played for my Beckenham team in the London League for several years.
